Pathways Educations Services Inc. - E-Learning Course Integration

Pathways Education Services Inc. is a leading provider of custom e-learning courses. Pathway's e-learning modules are built to integrate seamlessly to Learning Management Systems that conform to industry standards. Some clients, however, use proprietary, non-standard Learning Management Systems which does not work with the developed modules.

Pathways approached Mirawest to help with integrating several of their AICC and SCORM-compliant e-learning courses into their clients' proprietary Learning Management Systems (LMS). We first spent time to analyze the proprietary LMS's built-in integration capabilities. Based on our analysis, we built a standards-compliant translator, creating an easy way to integrate the prioritary system with standards-compliant courses. As a result, Pathways, was now able to offer more comprehensive services by ensuring that their courses results can be tracked regardless of their client's back-end system.

Impact BC - Web 2.0 Collaboration

Impact BC is an organization that supports service improvement for the health care system in British Columbia, Canada. Their effectiveness relies on their ability to help project members, who are spread over long distances, to collaborate and work effectively together

The Impact BC vision was to build an online social community where their members can start/join collaborative initiatives, share documents/media, and engage in discussion. An Impact BC executive engaged Mirawest to help make the technology decisions and implement their vision. Mirawest worked closely with their stakeholders to gather the necessary requirements for the online social community. The site we developed allowed collaborators to sign up and take advantage of many Web 2.0 social networking features including: blogs, micro-blogs; real-time status updates; forums; group chats; file and media sharing; and more.

Healthy Heart Society of BC - IT Planning to Promote Public Awareness & Engagement

Healthy Heart Society of BC provides knowledge support for the prevention/management of chronic heart diseases. The Society had a business vision of improving awareness while engaging the public for feedback and participation online. Healthy Heart Society of BC asked Mirawest to develop a technology strategy to promote public awareness & engagement.

In conjunction with a special campaign called Patient Voices, Mirawest developed a web strategy to promote awareness while engaging the public. To meet the stringent operational and cost constraints, the main portion of the web strategy would rely on open-sourced technologies. Once the strategy was completed, Healthy Heart retained Mirawest's services to deliver on the strategy.

C3 Society - Achieving Operational Efficiency

The C3 Society is a cultural non-profit agency that offers programs for all ages to their community. With their growing success, they needed a more efficient way to run large programs without changing staffing levels. Mirawest helped C3 achieve several operational efficiencies through the successful implementation of Lumise.

Lumise is an easy-to-use content management system (CMS) that allowed C3 Society to take control of their website's content. Posting of new articles, photo albums, events, and management of the membership database became easy and efficient. Lumise, with it's built-in integration to Paypal, allowed C3 Society to handle membership registration and payments seamlessly.
